Dmytro Felixov, the founder of the Readeat bookstore chain and the BookTicket book platform, reported damage to a warehouse as a result of a Russian attack. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
– For now, it is known that a ‘shahed’ directly hit the warehouse where books from Readeat, Book.ua, and several publishers were located. Order shipments will not be made today, – wrote Felixov.
Later, Felixov wrote that “today a Russian ‘shahed’ hit our warehouse. A direct hit on Ukrainian books.” He added that “the most important thing today is that people are unharmed.”
Felixov noted that Russia continues to deliberately target the entire book publishing infrastructure – warehouses, printing houses, and bookstores. The industry, which has been operating under extremely difficult conditions since the full-scale invasion began, is forced to overcome the consequences of Russian attacks once again.
– We are not losing strength or hope. We have already assembled an operational headquarters. We are communicating with publishers and warehouse owners. We are restructuring supply chains. We are looking for new warehousing solutions and mechanisms for fair compensation for losses. We will continue to work, – he wrote.

Readeat is a Ukrainian book project that combines physical bookstores in Kyiv with an online platform. The assortment includes over 280,000 publications in Ukrainian and foreign languages. Here you can find fiction and professional literature, comics, non-fiction, as well as books for children, teenagers, and adults.
The project was founded by Ukrainian entrepreneur Dmytro Felixov, who previously worked in the music and concert industry. He is the founder of Concert.ua, co-founder of the media outlet SLUKH, the Origin Stage concert venue, and the company VIRUS Music.
Readeat began its operations in September 2023. Simultaneously, the team launched the online store Readeat.com.
- On August 16, it became known that in addition to the book market near the “Pochayna” metro station in Kyiv, the offices of the publishing houses “Nash Format” and “Laboratoriya” were damaged during a Russian attack at night.
- On August 1, it became known that the warehouse of the publishing house “Ranok” was damaged as a result of a Russian attack on Kyiv.
- On July 20, it was reported that the warehouse of the publishing house “Knyholav” was destroyed as a result of an air strike by the Russian Federation.
